Since the inception of Symas I've been serving as its Chief Technology Officer. Over the last year or so I've been watching Howard Chu's work and interactions with the LDAP community, and it's become evident that he has been carrying out more and more of the responsibilities traditionally carried out by a Chief Technology Officer.

A very wise man once told me that I should always be looking for my replacement, and that he should be better at my job than I am. This month we decided to make it official- Howard Chu will now be serving as Chief Technology Officer at Symas.

I will continue as Vice President in charge of Engineering. My focus now more than ever is on the day-to-day operational aspects of developing the Symas OpenLDAP product and delivering technical support to our subscribers.

Congratulations, Howard, it's your turn in the barrel now!

Congratulations Howard!

Congrats Howard! Well deserved

Thank you. Well in fact it seems I’ve survived my first month in the new position already and no major calamities. ;) (Yes, Matt told me about this change on April 1. Who’s the April Fool?)
