OpenLDAP on Microsoft Windows™ and about packaged versions of OpenLDAP for Windows. We at
Symas do our best to answer them, but I got tired of seeing the questions and the varying answers from other sources. I decided to do a little survey to see what's available in the form of packaged distributions. The results of that survey are below, but first I want to comment on building OpenLDAP on Windows.

Well, when you have nothing else better to do, threaten a patent law suit?
Why would Microsoft declare war on its biggest and best users? Symas wants to know. We doubt OpenLDAP is at any particular risk but then, when they won't reveal what they have up their sleeves, we should all shake in our boots.

An article reporting a speech caught our eye.The title encapsulates much of the challenge for us. And we thought Open Source Software developers were getting paid. Some, not all. Even Sun is paying "open-source developers"!?

Symas released Connexitor Naming Services (CNS) release 3.0.8 for IBM's AIX 5.2 and 5.3. This release includes support for automatic creation of home directories for newly added users. CNS 3.0.8 is available for download from our download portal. Enjoy!
