This IPCentral blog entry is an interesting take on the question of what's holding back free and Open Source Software (FOSS or OSS, you're choice). This article was pointed to by this brief posting in my RSS river this morning. It's a restatement of the basics. Nice to see IBM saying something nice about OpenLDAP. It's a shame they're falling into the trap of using the old, out of date, OpenLDAP software Red Hat keeps shipping with their distros.

Symas offers updated versions of both OpenLDAP (in CDS and of the nss_ldap and pam_ldap libraries mentioned (in our CNS product, see the Web site). Wouldn't you rather be on software that's up to date? (more)
